The University of Louisville School of Dentistry is a fee-for-service operation. Costs vary depending on the type of practice you go to.
Payment options
Payment plans
Subject to credit approval, patients may be eligible to participate in an interest-free payment plan for their dental care by entering into a contract arranged by financial counselors. You may contact our Cashier's Office at 502-852-5103 if you have additional questions.
Insurance
Insurance plans accepted vary based on type of practice and the services provided. While provide general information about plans accepted for each location, it's a good idea to check with your insurance company to be sure the location you're going to is considered in-network.
Our policy is to not quote insurance benefits to patients. As a courtesy, we will process pre-estimates and pre-authorizations and assist the patient when possible, but it is the responsibility of the patient to have an understanding of his/her benefits and to contact the insurance carrier for specific coverage information.
We will file commercial insurance claims as a courtesy for covered patients. However, most plans do not pay for all costs connected with treatment. Therefore, first-time patients and emergency patients (even those who have insurance) are still required to bring the appropriate deposit. Any difference between the insurance coverage and actual charges are the responsibility of the patient.
