Appointments
In the DMD student clinic, appointments are booked in three hour blocks. Appointments tend to be longer than in a private dental practice because of the educational nature of the clinic and the faculty supervision required.
If you are receiving care in our other practice types, it is much like going to a private practice dentist. Therefore, your appointment length will vary based on what is taking place during your visit.
For visitors who have a disabled parking permit, a limited number of disability parking spaces are available near the School of Dentistry patient/visitor entrance.

Costs, insurance & payment
We do not offer free dental care. All of our practice types including student clinics have a fee-for-service model.
We are not a federally qualified health care center and we do not have sliding-scale fees. The fee structure is the same at each location regardless of income or ability to pay.
Fees for services in student clinics are about 30-50% less than what you would pay for the same services in a private dental practice.
We accept many forms of payment, including Visa and Mastercard. You can even pay your bill online.
For more information, visit the Insurance & Payment Options page.
We will file commercial insurance claims as a courtesy for covered patients. Keep in mind that filing a claim is not a guarantee of payment.
For more information, visit the Insurance & Payment Options page.
Insurance plans accepted vary based on type of practice and the services provided. While provide general information about plans accepted for each location, it's a good idea to check with your insurance company to be sure the location you're going to is considered in-network.
There are a variety of dental insurance plans, and coverage varies from policy to policy. While we do not quote insurance benefits to patients, we will process pre-estimates and pre-authorizations as a courtesy when possible.
