Sidebar
Specialist dental providers are a critical resource in Kentucky. As a comprehensive oral health care program, we are looking to create partnerships with specialists across the state.
What is the Ryan White Oral Health Program/Miller Clinic?
The University of Louisville (UofL) School of Dentistry offers comprehensive oral health care programs for individuals living with HIV/AIDS through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. These programs, funded by the Ryan White Part B program, focus on increasing access to dental care for this underserved population in Kentucky. UofL's Community Based Dental Partnership Program (CBDPP) is one of only 12 federally funded oral health programs under Ryan White in the United States. Our main clinic providing community care is the Richard L. Miller Oral Health Clinic in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. In addition, we have UofL School of Dentistry satellite clinics and many private practice partners.
What We Do
Our program and clinic provide the following services:
- Comprehensive dentistry regardless of ability to pay, including but not limited to common dental procedures like cleanings, fillings, crowns, dentures, partials, extractions, and root canals
- Transportation services or gas vouchers to and from approved dental providers
- Private, personalized support services with dental case coordinators
Who Are Our Patients?
Our Ryan White patients are HIV positive, a resident of our service area (Kentucky and emerging communities in Southern Indiana) and actively enrolled in medical case management services with approved agencies in the state of Kentucky or Southern Indiana. Our patients are required to have updated labs annually as well as be active in medical case management. Our program verifies labs values and medication lists prior to appointments and provide them to you.
Approval of Treatment Plans
- As an approved Ryan White provider, the process for approval is simple. Once you have completed your initial consultation with our patient, simply email your proposed Treatment Plan to our office at (add email).
- You will receive approval via email for your plan within 24 hours; this can even be done in real time if emergency care is indicated, or treatment can be completed same day.
- Approval is simply based upon the patient being current within their requirements through the grant program and your Treatment Plan falling within our state approved guidelines for dental care.
- Once you have the approval in hand, your team is free to schedule the patient as needed.
